Orchestra is a daily music class. Students learn to play instruments of the string family: Violin, viola, cello, and the double bass

A.C.New Band students participate in a Symphonic Band, a Concert Band, a Beginning Band, a pep band, and a drum line. Each class provides opportunities for individual and group development.

The Symphonic Band is the advanced band at AC New Middle School. Placement in this band is by audition only. Symphonic Band students perform in several seasonal concerts throughout the year.

The Concert Band is the intermediate band at AC New Middle School. Any student who: has completed one year of beginner band, can read music, and makes a characteristic sound on their instrument can sign up for Concert Band. The Concert Band participates in several seasonal concerts throughout the year.

The beginner band is the entry level class for all incoming band students. Any 6th, 7th, or 8th grader with an interest in learning how to play instrument can sign up for Concert Band. Beginner band classes are mostly taught in instrument-specific classes and come together for the holiday concert, spring concert, and festival performances.

Campus Crime Stoppers in an organized group of student volunteers representing the campus as a whole. The Crimestoppers board will review crimes that have occurred within the school's jurisdiction and attempt to solve them by offering cash rewards as an incentive for information that will solve the crime. Crimestoppers will also offer a method for anonymity for those who wish to report criminal activity.

Election to the National Junior Honor Society is based on scholarship, service, leadership, citizenship and character. A seventh or eighth grade student who has attended the middle school for one semester, who maintains an overall 85 grade average and whose citizenship is satisfactory is eligible to be considered for election to the National Junior Honor Society. Applications are given out during the month of January each school year.

Each school's Student Council is made up of representatives from each grade level. The purposes and objectives of the Student Council are to provide service to the school, to provide a student forum and to coordinate certain student activities as may be designated by the sponsor or Principal.
